"I Got it Bad and That Ain't Good" by Duke Ellington
This piece of jazz starts out with a lovely, soft piano. It then transitions with a waning saxophone, accompanied by trumpets and jazzy percussive beat. The saxophone a focal point of the song, sounds almost as if it is crying. The emotion given off seems as if a woman is crying out for love. After this slow somber beat is introduced, a beautiful woman's voice comes in or rather a Saxophone. I listened to two different versions. One with lyrics and one with a saxophone instead of lyrics. I chose to go with the Saxophone one. It is an amazing performance on the instrument, exuding yearning for love. The lyrical version had a lovely woman singing with the saxophone coming in at certain parts. But I think the magic in the air is best captured by the Sax. Extraordinarily throughout the three minute sax piece you can understand all the different feelings the saxophone is conveying; feelings that are felt when "I Got it Bad and That Ain't Good".
Personally, I will listen to some Jazz. It is not the most populated genre in my music library, but I have select songs I will listen to. Me and my friends also started a funny tradition back in high school called: Midnight Jazz. Once midnight came, we would stop watching tv in the theatre room and throw on some smooth jazz. That was very relaxing and now I have a new Duke Ellington song to add to the tradition!
